Financial value

Central Oregon is home to 18 financial institutions which collectively have more than 80 branches in the Tri-county area. Three national banks are represented and eight banks are Oregon-based, including two that are headquartered in Central Oregon (Bank of the Cascades and High Desert Bank). Additionally, MidOregon Credit Union and Community First Bank are headquartered in the region.

In 2007, the total FDIC-insured deposit base for the region was $2.67 billion. Reflecting higher than average deposit wealth, Central Oregon supports a significant number of financial planning and investment firms.

Deschutes County financial deposits Relative to Other Oregon Metros

Bend MSA, which consists of Deschutes County, is one of the FDIC's largest deposit markets in Oregon. Relative to its population base, the value of its financial deposits is more productive than the average, reflecting the wealth in the region.
