Manager Eric Strobel to leave EDCO
BEND,
OR – November 15 11, 2011 - Economic Development for Central Oregon (EDCO) announced today that Eric Strobel, Business Development & Incentives
Manager, will leave EDCO to join Barrett
Business Services, Inc. (NASDAQ: BBSI) effective December 2, 2011. Strobel
has been at EDCO for nearly six years and will become Area Manager at BBSI, overseeing
the Central Oregon region.
“EDCO encourages an enterprising spirit in all of its employees, and so we wish
Eric the best as he takes on a new challenge at BBSI,” said Roger Lee, Executive Director for EDCO. “Eric has made outstanding contributions to
the organization during his tenure and he will be missed.”
At EDCO, Strobel was involved in multiple company recruitment and retention
projects both in Bend
and the tri-county region including InEntec, Agere Pharmaceuticals, Advanced
Energy, Tensility International, Deschutes Brewery and Nashelle Jewelry. He was instrumental in the formation of
several important business groups:
- High Desert Enterprise Consortium (HiDEC) in 2007
- Bend Economic Development Advisory
Board (BEDAB) in 2009, and
- Central Oregon Bioscience Industry Consortium
(COBIC) in 2008.
Strobel led
efforts to establish two key local incentives to help drive traded sector company
growth and create new jobs—the Bend Enterprise Zone and the forgivable loan
programs at the City of Bend and Deschutes County.
“I’ve
thoroughly enjoyed my time at EDCO tackling the essential mission of job growth
in Central Oregon,” said Strobel. “It’s hard
to leave a top quality team but, at the same time, I’m excited about the
opportunity to continue helping businesses build their success.”
BBSI is a
well-respected human resource administration company that partners with
businesses to provide innovative solutions in payroll, staffing, and human
capital. The Vancouver, WA-based company has 50 offices in 12 states, concentrated
on the West Coast. Strobel will be
succeeding current BBSI Area Manager, JD Mowlds. Mowlds has accepted an
assignment to open and manage a new BBSI office in the Monterey, California
area.
