EDCO’s Turnkey Relocation & SITE SELECTION Services

It's our mission to help your company make a relocation as smooth a process as possible. You can enlist EDCO's services (which are free to you) as a clearinghouse for federal, state, and local incentives, planning and permitting questions, transportation, workforce sourcing and training.  We're also happy to connect you with possible local suppliers and members of the business community.  To help ease the transitions involved in any relocation, we're able to provide recommendations and referrals for a wide variety of service providers across all of our communities.

EDCO is very knowledgeable regarding available properties, their amenities, and pricing throughout Central Oregon. We work collaboratively with Central Oregon's commercial real estate brokers and, when appropriate for a site visit, will arrange a tour of facilities, discussions with potential architects and builders.

Fast-Tack Permitting

EDCO has developed an expedited permit processing program within all cities in the region to quickly turn around permits for new structures, tenant improvements and land use. This program typically shaves weeks off the review time for building and land use. The cities of Bend and Redmond have fast-track permitting process for traded sector employers who contribute to the area’s growth through job creation and capital expansion. To be eligible, companies must generally be able to meet enterprise zone qualifications (read about Enterprise Zones under Property Tax Incentives). Retail and commercial businesses are typically not eligible for fast track permitting. Economic Development for Central Oregon (EDCO) reviews program candidates and determines eligibility in Bend, and the City of Redmond for its program.

COCIB (Opportunity) Fund

This fund provides cash grants that are made on a case-by-case basis to primary employers who invest in capital improvements (buildings, equipment) and create full time, permanent jobs. Grants may be used for relocation costs, land or equipment purchase, training, and so forth.  EDCO administers this flexible, easy-to-use fund.  Please note that as of the end of 2008, the COCIB fund is not capitalized.  Recapitalization will be discussed in our state Legislature in 2009, so future availability of these resources is uncertain.
