The Industry
Pond and Lake Liners, fabrication and installation
The Company
Based in the Crook County town of Prineville, privately-owned BTL is a growing fabricator and installer of pond and lake liners throughout the United States and Internationally.
The Situation/Requirements
BTL was located in a 30,000 square foot facility in Bend, with a production area limited to about ½ of the facility. We were limited on the total volume of our business, including a limitation of the panel size that we could fabricate given the square feet available in the Bend facility. The owners and management team of BTL recognized the need for a larger facility to enable the company to continue its current growth pattern so an expansion/relocation process was begun.
The Solution
The process that BTL undertook involved looking at available land in Bend, Redmond, Prineville and two other locations out of state. EDCO was instrumental in providing information on all three of the Central Oregon locations being
considered. EDCO presented the Enterprise Zone opportunity to the BTL management team, with locations in Redmond and Prineville that qualified.
EDCO personnel provided the contact information and introductions to the key players in both Redmond and Prineville that enabled us to gather the necessary information needed to come to a relocation decision. After completing the evaluation from the information provided by EDCO, BTL came to the decision to stay in Central Oregon and build an 83,000 square foot facility in Prineville, taking advantage of the Enterprise Zone property tax benefits, with enough land surrounding the new facility to allow for future growth. Our new facility has given us almost three times the production area, allowing us to provide the largest single panels of fabricated pond and lake liner material in the industry.
