Margie Dawson

Current Employment: Retired Computer Software Executive, Real Estate Developer and owner of Edge Events and Consulting

Past Experience: 30 plus years in the computer software and consulting industry covering all aspects of Information Technology and Business Management. Residential and commercial property owner and real estate developer for 35+ years. Currently the owner of a commercial retail/office complex in Redmond called Dawson Station.

Civic Involvement: Redmond City Councilor.  Previous Involvement: Chair of the Redmond Downtown Urban Renewal Advisory Committee, Planning Commissioner for the City of Redmond, Redmond Chamber Board Member, Redmond Downtown Partnership Executive Committee Member, Façade and Grant Rehabilitation Program for the City of Redmond, Redmond Re-route Beautification Committee Member, Redmond Development Commissioner

 

Doug Ertner

Tom GreenE

Current Position: Bend City Councilor and Real Estate Broker with Hasson Company Realtors

Past Experience:  2008 Central Oregon Association of Realtors President; School Board Member St Francis School; Board Member of St. Vincent de Paul council for Eastern Oregon.

Civic Involvement:  Bend City Council; Bend Metropolitan Planning Organization Board Member; Central Oregon Intergovernmental Council Executive Board Member; City of Bend Budget Committee Member; Bend Urban Renewal Agency Board Member; and Bend City liaison to Rural Fire Protection Board.


Lorie Harris Hancock

Current Employment: Attorney

Experience: Before coming to Bend, Hancock worked for Tonkon Torp in Portland.  She focuses her practice in the area of business law, including mergers and acquisitions, entity formations, debt and equity financing, securities offerings, emerging businesses and general corporate matters.  Her experience also extends to licensing and trademark law. Prior to becoming a lawyer, she worked in management for a private electric utility in regulatory affairs, business planning and consumer marketing. Education: B.S. University of Oregon, M.B.A. Portland State University, J.D. Northwestern School of Law of Lewis & Clark College.

Civic Involvement: Camp Sherman Historical Society President and Board member, Oregon State Bar, Washington Bar Association, Oregon Women Lawyers

Steve Hultberg

Current Experience:  Real estate and land use attorney with Ball Janik LLP.
 
Past Experience:  15 years of experience as a lawyer representing commercial, industrial and residential developers in all aspect of project transactions and permitting.  Prior to moving to Bend, Steve was an attorney with Perkins Coie, LLP in Portland.  He has been recognized by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America and Chambers USA for a number of years.
 
Civic Experience:  Board member with Arts Central, the regional arts and culture council for Central Oregon.  Steve also has an active pro bono practice, representing a number of non-profit groups.

Angela Jacobson


Current Employment:
Pacific Power, Regional Community Manager

Past Experience:
23 years of various opportunities within Pacific Power with a large emphasis on customer service

Becky Johnson

Current Employment:  Oregon State University – Cascades Campus, Vice President

Past Experience: Rebecca L. (Becky) Johnson, Ph.D., is vice president of Oregon State University - Cascades Campus, serving as the campus executive and reporting directly to the provost and executive vice president of Oregon State University.

Prior to coming to OSU-Cascades, Dr. Johnson had built a nearly 25-year career at Oregon State University, most recently, as vice provost for academic affairs and international programs.  Prior to her appointment as vice provost, Dr. Johnson was the associate dean for academic affairs and international programs in the OSU College of Forestry. She joined OSU as an assistant professor and holds the rank of full professor in the College of Forestry.

Civic Involvement: Governor’s Council of Economic Advisors (1990-2003); Chair, Oregon State University Strategic Planning Steering Committee (2003-2004); Bend 2030 Vision Builder Award (2009); Higher Education Assessment Team of Central Oregon (2009-present).

Past Experience: 24 years with U.S. Bancorp in a variety of commercial and investment banking positions including corporate finance, commercial banking, investment banking, and capital markets.

Current Employment:

Past Experience: Over 20 years of experience with Harrigan Price Fronk & Co. LLP; partner since 1989

Kirk Schueler

Current Employment:  Kirk Schueler became Chief Administrative Officer for St. Charles Health System in January 2011. Prior to taking on his current position, he spent 11 years serving as President of Brooks Resources, a real estate development company based in Bend.

Past Experience:  Kirk has a background in accounting and was a certified public accountant licensed in Oregon until 2002. He holds a bachelor of arts in accounting from the University of Oregon and a bachelor's of science in renewable natural resources from the University of Nevada, Reno.

Civic Involvement:  Member of the Oregon State Board of Higher Education, the Brooks Resources Corporation board, The Bend Foundation board, the Mt. Bachelor Sports Education Foundation board and the Building a Better Bend board.


Leland Smith

Current Employment: PresidentElesco Limited, a real estate development and consulting firm.  General Manager of the La Pine Industrial Park

Past Experience: Has managed economic development agencies in Portland, Colorado Springs, Tucson and Seattle.  Senior vice president and national accounts marketing director for the Grubb & Ellis Company (commercial & industrial real estate) in San Francisco.

Civic Involvement: Director of Midstate Electric Cooperative.  Served nine years on the Deschutes County Budget Committee and eight years on the Deschutes County Fair Board.


 


Katherine Tank

Current Employment:  Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt, Shareholder

Past Experience: Over 18 years experience in labor and employment law, serving employers throughout Central Oregon from the firm’s Bend office. Prior to establishing a successful private practice in Bend, Tank was a partner at Perkins Coie in Anchorage, Alaska, where she represented clients such as Alaska Airlines, University of Alaska, and BP Exploration. Tank’s experience also includes positions at the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals, U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon, and she served as a visiting foreign attorney in Brussels, Belgium.
Served four years as editor of Alaska Employment Law Letter, and as Editor-in-Chief of the Oregon Law Review in 1987-1988.

B.S. University of Oregon; J.D. University of Oregon School of Law

Civic Involvement: Human Resources Association of Central Oregon (HRACO) Board (since 2001); past 2003 President of the organization and was voted Human Resources Professional of the Year by HRACO membership in 2004. Current member of the Oregon State Bar Labor and Employment Section. Currently serves on the Board of Directors for Bend Chamber of Commerce and Central Oregon Employer Council.


Amy Tykeson

Current Employment: BendBroadband, President & CEO

Past Experience: 2
8 years of cable and telecommunications experience, including Home Box Office. Served as Vice Chairman, Board of Trustees, The Catlin Gabel School; President of Women in Cable and Telecommunications; Vice President of the University of Oregon Alumni Association; Young Presidents Organization. Recent recipient of NCTA’s Vanguard Award for Leadership, MCN’s Wonder Woman Award, and MCN Independent Cable Executive.

Industry and Civic Involvement:

Alan VanVliet


Current Employment:  JELD-WEN Development, Inc. -  Sr. Director of Real Estate Development

Past Experience:  15 years at JELD-WEN Development, Inc.  developing the Eagle Crest Resort and Brasada Ranch.  Eleven years in Irvine, CA as a project engineer.

Current Civic Involvement:  Redmond Economic Development Inc. Board of Directors (REDI)

Sean Watt

Current Employment: President – Central Oregon Region, Home Federal Bank

Past Experience: 19 years experience in the financial services industry (the past 11 years with Home Federal Bank). Prior to relocating to Bend in 2010, served as Senior Vice President and Branch Administrator for Home Federal Bank’s Idaho Region. Honors graduate of Pacific Coast Banking School at the University of Washington.

Current Civic Involvement: Boys and Girls Club of Central Oregon (BGCCO) Board of Directors; Center for Economic Research and Forecasting (CERF) Board of Directors; Actively involved in other local philanthropic organization in the Central Oregon region.

Melanie Widmer

Current Employment:  Madras Sanitary Service - Co-owner; Mayor- City of Madras
