2005 Bend Venture Conference Attracts All-Star Investor Panel

BEND, Ore.—Aug. 22, 2005—The Bend Venture Conference has secured six dynamic leaders from the Northwest venture community to serve as the expert panel at the annual conference on Oct. 14, at the Tower Theatre in downtown Bend. 

The investor panel is comprised of some the most powerful voices in today’s venture community. They were each handpicked for their experience with seed and early-stage investments as well as their diversity. The panel includes Dan Eilers, general partner of Vanguard Ventures in the San Francisco Bay Area; Wayne Embree, managing partner of Cascadia Partners in Portland, Ore.; Denny Weston, senior managing director at Fluke Venture Partners in Bellevue, Wash.; Eric Rosenfeld, managing partner of Capybara Ventures in Portland, Ore.; Gordon Hoffman, managing director of Northwest Technology Ventures also in Portland, Ore.; and John O’Donnell, CEO and founder of Montana-based Tech Ranch. 

The Bend Venture Conference attracts companies from both the high-technology and low-technology business sectors who are actively seeking funding and partnerships. The conference will showcase six companies who will present their business plans for feedback from both the audience and the expert panel. The conference is still accepting applications from companies interested in presenting.

Tim Boyle, president and CEO of Columbia Sportswear Company, will deliver the keynote address at this day-long event. In addition, three Central Oregon companies will share their success stories. 

The annual Bend Venture Conference provides a key opportunity to showcase the robust economy of Bend and Central Oregon. The event will be held in conjunction with Economic Development for Central Oregon’s Industry Week scheduled for Oct. 10-14.
