Bend Venture Conference 2006 Invites Seed and Early Stage Companies Seeking Funding
August 11, 2006-BEND, OR - In its third year, the Bend Venture Conference 2006 (BVC) aims to continue its track record of providing investors and business leaders a unique forum to learn about emerging investment opportunities. This year’s conference will be held on October 20, 2006 at the Tower Theatre, located in downtown Bend, from 8:30AM to 4:30PM. As in past years the event enjoys the continued support of the Oregon Entrepreneurs Forum and Economic Development for Central Oregon.
“Participating in the BVC opened the door for several valuable contacts and provided a nice launching pad for a successful first round of funding for Nexsys,” stated John Guyer, President and CEO, Nexsys, Inc., a presenting company at BVC 2005. BVC is again planning to feature a select group of early stage companies, executives from which will present their business plans to an audience of angel investors and venture firms from throughout the Northwest.
BVC 2006 is actively looking for seed and early stage companies to present at the event scheduled for October 20th, 2006. BVC is also calling all interested investors and service providers to attend and to alert their associates of this potential funding opportunity. Companies from both the high-technology and low-technology business sectors seeking funding and partnerships will gain direct exposure and feedback from an expert panel of seed and early stage venture investors. Applying companies not chosen to present will still gain access to investors through a complimentary conference registration as well as a brief company profile in the conference program.
Serving as the event’s keynote speaker is Paul E. Gulick, CEO and Chairman of Clarity Visual Systems, Inc. His knowledge and experience in the fields of LCD technology and projection optics is vast; his entrepreneurial success starting new companies is inspirational. Mr. Gulick is regularly recognized for his achievements and was most recently honored as Technology Executive of the Year, 2005, by the Columbia Council.
For more information and to register to attend, visit the Bend Venture Conference website at www.bendvc.com. Early registration is $149 (through September 15) and includes a continental breakfast, lunch and post-conference networking reception. Companies and entrepreneurs interested in applying to present may reference the website or email to presenters@bendvc.com. The application deadline for presenting companies is September 15, 2006.
