FLIGHTS TO SALT LAKE CITY START
Delta Connection carrier SkyWest Airlines first flight, nearly fully booked, from Redmond to Salt Lake City International is took off at 6:45 am Tuesday, March 1st providing the region’s first direct connection east. Delta Connection is offering two daily, non-stop, round-trip flights on a 50-seat Canadair Regional Jet to Salt Lake City, UT.

Salt Lake City is Delta’s third largest hub with 125 daily flights to 64 locations in the U.S., while Delta’s commuting partner, SkyWest Airlines, has an additional 156 additional departures.
Led by Economic Development for Central Oregon (EDCO) and the Central Oregon Air Service Task Force (COAST), Delta Connection was successfully recruited to Redmond Airport as part of a local incentive package which included a $500,000 federal grant from the Department of Transportation, $450,000 in marketing resources and $500,000 revenue guarantee provided through an Airline Travel Bank™. In December, 115 businesses deposited $626,000 towards the Airline Travel Bank™ to secure air service to Salt Lake City International. The Travel Bank represents pre-paid travel committed by businesses and is designed to assure Delta that it will have passengers during the critical 12 month start up period for airlines.
