REDMOND TO SALT LAKE CITY FLIGHTS START MARCH 1 2005

Delta Doubles Oregon Destinations with New
Jet Service at Medford, Redmond/Bend

Low introductory fares invite Oregon customers to try new Delta Connection service

SALT LAKE CITY, Dec. 14, 2004 – Delta (NYSE: DAL) customers soon will have doubly good reason to fly Delta between Oregon and the airline’s Salt Lake City hub.  Beginning March 1, 2005, Delta Connection carrier SkyWest Airlines will introduce new daily nonstop jet service between Salt Lake City and Medford, Ore., and between Salt Lake City and Redmond/Bend, Ore., doubling the number of Delta destinations in the Beaver State.

Customers in both Medford and Redmond/Bend will enjoy two daily flights to Salt Lake City, where they will have access to more than 375 daily Delta and Delta Connection flights to 80 destinations.  The new service will be operated with quiet, comfortable Bombardier CRJ200 regional jets.

With the new service, Delta and Delta Connection carriers will offer Oregon customers a total of 19 daily departures from four hometown airports – Eugene, Medford, Portland and Redmond/Bend.

“Delta’s new schedule will give Oregon travelers more options,” said Sen. Gordon Smith.  “Whether traveling for business or pleasure, the new flights will attract commerce and tourism that will benefit Oregon’s economy.”

Added Sen. Ron Wyden, “These new travel options mean even more people will be able to enjoy and help to grow central and southern Oregon’s unique business and recreational opportunities.  I can attest that Delta’s confidence in these regions is well-placed.”

Delta Connection’s new service at Medford will connect customers directly to the industrial, medical and service center of Southern Oregon and Northern California. Visitors to Medford also enjoy excellent whitewater rafting, snow skiing, hiking, fishing and renowned Oregon wineries.  Redmond/Bend, Ore., meanwhile, is located east of Oregon’s Cascade mountain range and is considered one of the fastest growing industrial and residential communities in the state.

"Residents of Southern and Central Oregon welcome Delta's new service from Salt Lake City,” said U.S. Rep. Greg Walden of Oregon’s second congressional district.  “These new options will make traveling easier for business fliers as well as vacationers.  It's another sign that our economy is gaining strength, and it's also another asset for our communities as they recruit new businesses to our part of Oregon.  While Central and Southern Oregon are well served today, as a frequent flyer I can tell you additional carriers and routes are a real benefit.”

To celebrate the new service, Delta is offering special introductory fares for customers traveling to or from Medford or Redmond/Bend.  Sample fares are one-way based on a roundtrip purchase (roundtrip purchase required).  Fares require a 14-day advance purchase.  See below for details and other important restrictions.
