CALIFORNIA COMPANY RELOCATES TO REDMOND

Redmond, OR- GP Metal Products, Inc. has recently relocated their manufacturing operations to Redmond from Pomona, California. The company manufactures steel and aluminum Tool Krib truck bodies, tool boxes, racks, and accessories for the construction and services industries. The company also custom designs and fabricates metal parts for special equipment and structures. The company moved into a new 4,000 square foot building at 1104 SE Lake Road. Currently, GP Metal Products has a staff of 4 and expects to hire up to 5 fabricators when they are in full operation.

GP Metal Products decided to look at Redmond due to quality of life issues and a generally poor business climate in California.

Owners Gino and Patricia Affatati moved to the Central Oregon region after visiting a number of times on vacation and after they determined that "Redmond had a mature industrial infrastructure and a pro-business environment" in which their firm could operate and prosper.

Redmond Economic Development Manager, Bud Prince, said, "It is exciting to have GP Metal Products move its manufacturing operation to Central Oregon. Their relocation is a significant commitment to the continued growth and vitality of the Central Oregon economy and we extend a warm welcome to Gino and Patricia Affatati and their staff."

Redmond Economic Development, Inc. (RED) played the lead role in providing information and addressing critical issues such as available property and business permits. RED has partnered with Economic Development for Central Oregon (EDCO) for implementing business attraction and expansion efforts for the Redmond community.

EDCO is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to business recruitment, marketing and economic diversification.
