EDCO is making available a presentation from Michael K. Gaston, District Library DIrector, Deschutes Public Library, and Marc Futterman, President and CEO of CIVIC Technologies.
As an architect, Futterman used geographic information systems (GIS) in city planning and realized the potential for libraries to take advantage of similar tools. In 1999, he co-founded CIVIC Technologies, which develops and customizes desktop and Internet-based GIS applications for public agencies, businesses, institutions, and nonprofit organizations.
