EDCO WELCOMES NEW BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

EDCO WELCOMES NEW BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Economic Development for Central Oregon (EDCO) is pleased to welcome Eric Strobel as its new Business Development Manager. Mr. Strobel will be heading up the business retention/expansion program, which was a new program launched in November 2001, to assist local manufacturers, technology-based companies and other employers with expansion or retention issues.

EDCO, a private, non-profit organization supported by private and public contributions, was founded 25 years ago to market and attract new businesses to the Central Oregon region.

Strobel possesses over 14 years experience in the film industry, information technology, and management.  Most recently, he was the District Manager at Central Electric Cooperative where he managed the Bend service center, the customer service department, and acted as an Account Executive for the coop’s larger members in Bend.

Strobel received his Bachelor of Arts in Communications from San Diego State University and has lived in Bend since 1992.  He has been heavily involved in the Bend community through United Way, Rotary Club of Bend, and is currently the co-chair for Bend 2030, a community visioning project.

As the Business Development Manager, Mr. Strobel will be responsible for meeting with businesses throughout the three-county area to help with issues such as business finance, facilities development, manufacturing processes, product marketing, workforce training, attracting and retaining labor force, and incentives for expansion.

The focus of the program is to deliver substantive results to companies in the region, and provide better connections with other existing business development organizations in the area including the Central Oregon Intergovernmental Council, COCC’s Center for Business & Industry, Opportunity Knocks, SCORE, the Oregon Economic & Community Development Department and area Chambers of Commerce.
