April 14th PubTalk to Feature Design Strategist
and Innovative Leader of Portland-Based Ziba Design

The next Central Oregon PubTalk will be held Thursday, April 14th from 5:30pm - 7:30pm. Pub Talk will be held at McMenamin’s Old St. Francis School in Father Luke’s Foundation Room (Parrish Center, 720 Bond Street, Bend). The event is open to both Economic Development for Central Oregon (EDCO) and OEF members (cost is $15) and non-members (cost is $25). To register for the event, please click here. Presented by Economic Development for Central Oregon in partnership with OEF, PubTalks are sponsored by Ball Janik LLP and the 2005 Bend Venture Conference.

Keynote speaker Steve McCallion, Creative Director of ZIBA Design (www.ziba.com), will share his five steps to creating products, services and businesses that have meaning in his presentation titled:  “Brand – It's Not Just for the Big Guys."

McCallion leads the development of design and branding solutions for a range of clients including KitchenAid, Sirius Satellite Radio, Federal Express, Umpqua Bank and Johnson & Johnson. From small-scale interactive media projects to large-scale brand development programs, he brings a rare balance of design sensibility and strategic thinking to clients with complex projects. Steve was the founding director of ZIBA's award-winning research and design planning group, where he developed many proprietary methodologies that have won design awards and market success. He has published numerous papers, won multiple design awards, and is a respected lecturer and design juror. Prior to joining ZIBA, Steve was a designer, an architect and an entrepreneur.

PubTalk will also feature an early stage company presentation by Learmousine (www.learmousine.com), a custom manufacturer of unique, high-end limousines. Early stage presentations, which follow the keynote speaker, provide new or start-up businesses a venue to receive feedback on products, services, marketing strategy or other integral components of the business. Presenters share ideas, experiences and strategies for success with other businesses, angel investors, and EDCO/OEF members.

Rob Stout of Ball Janik LLP will also present the third in a series of six short Legal Mini Camps titled:
"Building the Team: Legal and Practical Issues in Hiring, Compensating and Firing Key Team Members".

Economic Development for Central Oregon (EDCO) is a private, non-profit membership organization dedicated to building a strong and secure economic future for Central Oregon.
