Forbes Magazine Publisher Rich Karlgaard to Address Bend Venture Conference 2008

June 25, 2008-BEND, OR- Bend Venture Conference (BVC) announced today its keynote speaker for the fifth annual conference on October 16 and 17 in Bend at the Tower Theatre.

Rich Karlgaard is the publisher of Forbes, the magazine’s “Digital Rules” columnist, entrepreneur, and author of The Wall Street Journal best seller, Life 2.0 – How People Across America Are Transforming Their Lives by Finding the Where of Their Happiness.

Mr. Karlgaard will address “America’s Coming Heartland Boom”, outlined in his book as the balanced, technology-enabled lifestyle millions of Americans will be seeking out in the coming years. Bend is named in his book as one of the nation’s best “telecommuting heavens”.

Before joining Forbes, Mr. Karlgaard cofounded the 5,000 member non-profit Churchill Club, Silicon Valley’s premier business and technology forum. He also started two magazines and sits on several boards. Mr. Karlgaard is a graduate of Stanford University with a B.A. in political science.
